After Airtel, now Vi (Vodafone Idea) announces a price hike for prepaid plans in India. With the price hike, the entry-level voice plan now costs ₹99 which is about 25% higher compared to the old price of ₹79. The ₹79 plan offers talk time worth ₹99, 200MB data, and 1p/sec voice tariff. The Vi unlimited plan now starts at ₹179 compared to the old price of ₹149 and offers unlimited voice calling, 3GB of Data, and 300 SMS. Apart from the voice plans, Vi has also increased the prices of data vouchers. The ₹48, ₹98, ₹251 and ₹351 data vouchers will now be available for ₹58, ₹118, ₹298, and ₹418 respectively. The new tariffs for all prepaid packs will be available starting 25th November 2021.
The new plans will start the process of ARPU improvement and help address the financial stress faced by the industry.
