At MWC 2018, Sony had announced its first 18:9 display smartphones Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact and today, Sony has launched its first dual camera smartphone dubbed as Xperia XZ2 Premium. It sports a 5.8-inch 4K HRD display with a resolution of 2160×3840 pixels and powered by the Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line octa-core Snapdragon 845 Mobile platform with 6GB of RAM. It comes with an internal storage of 64GB and depending upon the region, available in both Single as well as Dual SIM configurations. In term of design, it has a combination of Glass and metal with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides. This smartphone runs on Android Oreo out of the box and backed by a 3,540mAh battery that Quick Charge 3.0 and also wireless charging.
The key highlight of this smartphone is its dual camera setup that includes a 19MP, ƒ/1.8 Motion Eye sensor, and a 12MP ƒ/1.6 Black & White sensor. It is also the world’s first smartphone with highest ISO 12800 sensitivity for video recording and ISO 51200 for photos. The rear camera supports 4K video recording and also super slow-motion video recording at 960 fps. For selfies and video calls, you’ll get a 13MP f/2.0 sensor with screen flash support. Similar to Xperia XZ2, it supports 3D Creator feature that will scan your face in 3D and also allows you to upload it directly to Facebook. You can even use the 3D scan as your phone’s wallpaper. Furthermore, it is powered by the Sony’s Dynamic Vibration System which analyses and lets you feel the sound using vibrations. Other key features are Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, VoLTE, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Face Unlock, and 5GHz WiFi ac.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium will be offered in two colors – Chrome Black, & Chrome Silver and available globally from Summer 2018. Sony has yet to announce the pricing. There is no dedicated 3.5mm Audio port on Xperia XZ2 Premium but you’ll get a Type-C to 3.5mm converter inside the box.
