Sony has announced its first 18:9 display smartphones Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact at MWC 2018. The key differences between both smartphones are the Display Size, Battery and Wireless Charging support. The Sony Xperia XZ2 has a 5.7-inch Full HD display, 3180mAh battery with wireless charging wherein the Xperia XZ2 Compact has a 5-inch Full HD display, 2870mAh battery without wireless charging support. In terms of design, the Xperia XZ2 to has a glass build wherein the XZ2 Compact has an anti-scratch Polycarbonate build. Other technical specifications including the Camera, RAM, Processor remains same on both devices.
In the camera department, both devices share the same set of specifications. The rear camera has a 19MP f/2.0 sensor and supports 4K as well Full HD super slow-motion video recording at 960 fps. For selfies and video calls, you’ll get a 5MP f/2.2 sensor with 23mm wide-angle lens. Another key highlight is the 3D Creator feature that will scan your face in 3D and also allows you to upload it directly to Facebook. You can use the 3D scan as your phone’s wallpaper.
Both devices are powered by the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. You can also expand the device storage up to 400GB using a microSD card. Also, both smartphones support Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and Qnovo Adaptive charging that monitors your battery’s health when it’s plugged in and adjusts current levels to ensure the battery isn’t overworked. Due to the design constraint, Wireless Charging is only present in the Xperia XZ2. Furthermore, these are powered by the Sony’s Dynamic Vibration System which analyses and lets you feel the sound using vibrations.
