Sony Xperia XZ1 was first introduced at IFA 2017, and today the company has made it official in India. It’s a flagship smartphone from Sony and also the first smartphone to boot on Android 8.0 Oreo apart from Google’s own Nexus & Pixel devices. The 5.2″ full HD HDR display uses the Sony’s BRAVIA TV technology which it is the same technology used in Sony’s latest BRAVIA TVs. The display is also powered by the Sony’s TRILUMINOUS & X-Reality technologies and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The device sold in India is a Dual SIM variant, comes with a hybrid SIM tray and supports microSD up to 256GB. As it’s a Hybrid SIM tray, you can use either two Nano SIM cards or a Nano SIM and a microSD SD card. The fingerprint scanner is embedded into the Power button which is placed on the right side of the device.
Xperia XZ1 is fuelled by the Snapdragon 835 octa-core CPU mated with 4GB RAM and a Quack charge 3.0 supported 2700mAh battery. The major highlight of this smartphone is the 19MP Motion eye camera. It includes 5-axis stabilization for shake-free videos and capable of recording 4K videos and also super slow-motion videos at 960fps. Furthermore, the camera also comes preloaded with a unique 3D creator app that converts people and objects into high-resolution 3D avatars. For selfies and video calls, this device comes with a 13MP front camera that supports 1080p video recording. For connectivity, it includes USB Type-C 3.1 Port, Dual-band WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS with GLONASS and VoLTE.
