Motorola Edge and Edge+ Goes Official: Price, Full Specifications, Availability

After launching a bunch of G-series smartphones including Moto G8 Power Lite, Moto e6s, Moto G8, Moto G Power, etc. in a span of fewer than three months, Motorola now announces its flagship Edge Series smartphone at a global online event. The all-new Edge series consists of two devices – Moto Edge and Moto Edge+. Both are high-end smartphones, come with an almost similar design but with a few differences in the spec sheet.

Both Motorola Edge and Edge+ come with an edge to edge full HD+ OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and also have a screen refresh rate of 90Hz. Motorola calls the display as Endless Edge display that wraps both edges nearly 90-degrees. The Motorola Edge is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset wherein the Edge+ gets Qualcomm’s most advanced Snapdragon 865 chipset on board. Both devices support 5G networks and also equipped with dual stereo speakers tuned by Waves for a better audio experience.

Apart from the processor, one of the key changes in both devices is the triple camera setup. The Motorola Edge comes with a 64MP primary camera wherein the Edge+ comes with a high-resolution 108MP sensor. Both devices are accompanied by a 16MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto lens. Also, both devices share the same 25MP camera on the front which is positioned inside a circular display cutout on the top left. You can shoot up to 6K videos on Moto Edge+ while the Moto Edge supports up to 4K video recording.

Coming to the battery, the Edge is backed by a 4,500mAh battery wherein the Edge+ comes with a 5,000mAh battery. Both devices support 18W fast charging, but additionally, the Edge+ support 15W wireless charging as well as 5W reverse wireless charging. The Motorola Edge comes in two colors – Solar Black & Midnight Magenta and will be available in Italy beginning in May at MSRP €699 (Approx. ₹57,900). It will also be made available in the Asia Pacific, various European countries, Latin America, and the US in the coming weeks.

The Motorola Edge Plus comes in two colors – Smoky Sangria & Thunder Grey and will go on sale in various countries across Europe, UAE, India, and select Latin American markets starting May 2020. In the U.S., it will be available exclusively on Verizon, starting 14th May at $999.99 (Approx. ₹76,300) or $41.66 a month for 24 months on Verizon Device Payment.
