Micromax Canvas 1 2018 is the upgraded version of Canvas 1 2017 which was launched in July 2017. Apart from the Display and Battery, most of the specifications are identical. Additionally, the Canvas 1 2018 support Face Unlock that uses about 128 face key points and securely unlocks the smartphone. Even Micromax claims, Face Unlock is not affected by the change of daily makeup. This device sports a 5.7-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and has a resolution of 1440×720 Pixels. It offers 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and ships with Android Nougat. There is also a dedicated microSD slot lets you expand storage up to 64GB.
Micromax hasn’t mentioned about the processor, but, it might boot on the same MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor which is present on the Canvas 1 2017. The rear camera has an 8-megapixel sensor with LED flash and the front camera has a 5-megapixel sensor with Soft Selfie Light. It’s a Dual SIM 4G device supports TDD Band 40 and also VoLTE. It has a 3000mAh battery which is slightly bigger than the 2500mAh battery of Canvas 1 2017. Other key specifications are WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio, USB OTG, and a micro USB port. There is also a dedicated Smart Key mounted on the left side of the device which can be assigned to take the screenshots, Pictures, turn on the torch etc. This device lacks a fingerprint scanner.
The Micromax Canvas 1 2018 is offered in Matte Black and Jet Black hues and has a price tag of ₹6,999. It will be available to buy exclusively via HomeShop18.com starting 28th March 2018 at 9.15 PM.
