Along with the ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5z, Asus has also introduced a slimmed down variant dubbed as ZenFone 5 Lite at MWC 2018. This device is available in two variants – Snapdragon 430 Processor with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and Snapdragon 630 Processor with 4GB of RAM. The 3GB RAM variant comes with 32GB of internal storage and the 4GB RAM variant with 64GB of storage. There is also a dedicated microSD slot allows you to expand the device storage up to 2TB. Its a Dual SIM 4G device runs on Android Nougat with ZenUI 4.0 and supports VoLTE. As per Asus, the non-removable 3,300mAh battery on both of the devices can provide up to up to 24 days of 4G standby time.
It flaunts a 6-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and comes with the 2.5D contoured glass panel on either side of the phone. The camera department includes dual camera setup on both sides. The front camera has a primary 20MP with a secondary 120° wide-angle sensor and supports ASUS SelfieMaster technology for smart beautification in selfies, videos, & live streams. The front camera setup also has a Soft-LED light and supports 1080p video recording, Selfie Panorama, Portrait mode, GIF Animation etc. The rear camera setup includes a vertically placed a 16MP f/2.2 sensor and a secondary 120° Wide-angle sensor with LED Flash. You can also shoot 4K videos at 30fps (SD630 Only) and full HD slow-motion videos at 30fps. Other key specifications are a fingerprint scanner, FM Radio, Bluetooth, 5GHz WiFi (SD630 Only), GPS, 3.5mm Audio Jack, and a micro USB port.
Asus Zenfone 5 Lite is offered in three hues – Midnight Black, Rouge Red, & Moonlight White and will go on sale starting March 2018. Asus has yet to announce the pricing.
