Asus ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5z with 6.2-inch 19:9 Display, Dual Rear Cameras Goes Official at MWC 2018

At MWC 2018, Asus has announced ZenFone 5 series smartphones namely ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5z. Both devices come with near bezel-less 6.2-inch display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. There is also a small notch at the top of the display similar to what we have seen in the iPhone X that houses the Front camera, Earpiece, and an Ambient light sensor. In terms of design, both devices look identical and come with the same set of specifications except Processor, RAM, and Storage. The Asus ZenFone 5 is powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 processor, 6GB RAM, and 64GB storage wherein the high-end ZenFone 5z has Snapdragon 845 CPU, 8GB RAM, and 256GB UFS2.1 storage. Additionally, the ZenFone 5z supports Dual VoLTE and allows you to make HD Calls using both SIM slots. Both devices run on Android Oreo with ZenUI 5.0 on top.

In the camera department, these smartphones equipped with A.I. powered Dual camera setup on the rear side. The setup includes a 16MP and a 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor with LED flash. The camera also comes with various intelligent features such as AI scene detection, Real-time portrait, Pro mode, 16 AI scene detections, Night HDR, GIF animation, AI photo learning etc. You can also shoot shake-free 4K videos at 30fps and full HD slow-motion videos at 120fps with three-axis electronic image stabilization (EIS). The front camera has 8MP f/2.0 sensor and supports AI beautification, Selfie Panorama etc. Both devices equipped with a 3,300mAh non-removable battery with ASUS BoostMaster fast-charge technology and also supports AI charging to maximize the battery lifespan. For connectivity, these include FM Radio, Bluetooth 5.0, 5GHz WiFi, GPS with GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-c port.
