Along with the next Gen. iPhone’s, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, Apple has also introduced iPhone X (iPhone Ten). It has a new design which is entirely different from the previous gen. iPhones and also comes with a slew of new features. The new iPhone X sports a 5.8″ edge to edge Super Retina HD display with a cutout at the top for the camera and various sensors. It has a glass body with Surgical‑grade stainless steel and supports wireless charging as well as fast charging. Another major change in which the TouchID also know as fingerprint scanner in other smartphones is replaced by the all new Face ID. So iPhone X doesn’t include a home button. Instead of pressing a button, a single swipe from bottom takes you home from any screen.
Face ID is enabled by the TrueDepth camera and also it is simple to set up. It projects and analyzes more than 30,000 invisible dots to create a precise depth map of your face. All the facial map is encrypted and protected authentication happens instantly on the device only. As per Apple, the newly introduced A11 Bionic chip uses machine learning to recognise any changes in your appearance such as glasses, hat, beard etc. Face ID can also be used to make payments via Apple Pay.
For photography, iPhone X comes with a dual camera setup at the rear side placed vertically with a Quad-LED flash in between. The dual camera setup includes two 12MP sensors with Optical Image Stabilization on both sensors. Similar to iPhone 8 Plus, this device also supports Portrait Mode and Portrait Lighting which is currently in beta stage. Both front and rear camera support Portrait mode. Apple has also introduced a new feature called Animoji, which captures and analyzes more than 50 different muscle movements using the TrueDepth camera and then mirrors your expressions in any of 12 different Animoji. This smartphone is capable of providing Talk time up to 21 hours and can charge the battery from 0 to 50 in 30 minutes.
The Apple iPhone X will be available two hues – Space Grey & Silver and priced at ₹89,000 for 64GB and ₹1,02,000 for 128GB. It will be available for pre-orders starting October 27 and shipping begins on November 3 through Apple Authorised Resellers.
