Apple has a launched a new 9.7-inch iPad at an event held in Chicago. It has a 9.7-inch LED-backlit Retina display and powered by the A10 Fusion chip with an Embedded M10 coprocessor. The specifications of the New 9.7-inch iPad is almost similar to the iPad 9.7-inch 2017 edition except the processor. Additionally, the new 9.7-inch iPad supports Apple Pencil just like the iPad Pro. Apple pencil can be used on the popular apps such as Notability, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Microsoft Office etc. It also supports iPad’s palm rejection technology allows you to rest your hand on the screen while you use Apple Pencil. In the camera department, the rear 8MP and the front 1.2MP cameras are optimized for better low-light performance, HD video recording, Movie making, and FaceTime calls. Apart from the key features like Touch ID, Split Screen, Picture in Picture Slide Over it also supports Apple SIM (WiFi-Cellular Model) that allows you connect to wireless data plans while traveling in more than 180 countries and regions.
Along with the new iPad Apple also announced Schoolwork, a new app that helps teachers create assignments, see students progress. Teachers can easily assign a specific activity within an app and direct their students directly to the specific point within the app. Also, teachers will get all information about the student’s performance and they can even check each student’s overall class performance, Student’s app activities and progress on their assignments. The new iPad starts at $299 for schools and Apple Pencil at $89. Any teacher or student with a managed Apple ID has access to 200GB of free iCloud storage.
The new Apple 9.7-inch iPad comes in Silver, Gold, and Space Gray colors and priced at ₹28,000 for the 32GB WiFi model and ₹38,600 for 32GB WiFI+Cellular model. In the U.S. it will be available to buy from Apple.com starting at $329 for the 32GB with WiFi variant and $459 for the 32GB WiFi+Cellular variant. Apple Pencil is available for purchase separately for $99. Smart Covers for iPad are available for $39 in Charcoal Gray, Midnight Blue, RED, White, and Pink. It will be available to pre-order starting today in more than 25 countries and regions – Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE, the UK, and the US. India, Russia, Thailand, Turkey and other countries will follow in April, with South Korea and other countries in May 2018.
