Recently, the Government of India has announced the ban on 59 Chinese apps including the popular video-sharing app TikTok. The ban on TikTok created an opportunity for Indian companies to work on similar offerings. Now, ZEE5, leading OTT apps with over 100 million downloads announces India’s first-ever fully homegrown short video platform called HiFi.
Apart from the name we don’t have any other information about this upcoming short video sharing app. But, ZEE5, however, has shared a couple of screenshots from the app that will give a sneak peek about the user interface of the HiPi. Users need to register using the mobile number or email address to start using the HiPi. There is also a Skip button on the top left for quick access.
ZEE5’s HiPi is driven by the vision to encourage self-expression and it aims to unlock the potential talent that this country has by inviting talented and diverse content creators who are seeking a platform that encourages creativity and paves the way to Stardom, the brand said in a media release.
There is no information about the exact date of launch (Most probably in the second or third week of July 2020) and ZEE5 has asked interested users to Download ZEE5 app to know more about the official launch of HiPi. It will be made available on both Android as well as iOS platforms.
