Xiaomi expands its popular A-series smartphone line-up with the launch of Redmi 8A in India. It’s an entry-level smartphone and the successor of Redmi 7A which was introduced in India on July 2019. The Xiaomi Redmi 8A sports a 6.22-inch HD+ display with a dewdrop-styled notch and powered by the Snapdragon 439 octa-core Mobile Platform with a massive 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.
In the camera department, the Redmi 8A has a Sony-made 12MP IMX363 sensor with LED flash and an 8MP camera on the front. The camera also supports various AI modes and also 1080p video recording. The Redmi 8A lacks a Fingerprint scanner but supports AI Face Unlock that quicky unlocks the smartphone using your face. In India, the Redmi 8A is offered in two configurations – 2GB RAM with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB Storage.

The 2GB/32GB variant is priced at ₹6,499 and the 3GB/32GB at ₹6,999. It will be made available in the Mi Home, Mi Stores, Mi Studio and also through Mi Preferred Partners across India in the coming days.
