Facebook-owned top messaging app WhatsApp has started rolling out Live Location Sharing for both Android and iOS users. This feature is end-to-end encrypted and lets you control who you share with and for how long. You can stop the live location sharing at any time. While sharing you will be asked to set the duration of the location sharing such as 15 minutes, 1 hour and 8 hours. Sharing will be stopped automatically once it reaches the predefined duration. You can also stop it manually in between. This feature work for both single chat as well as for a group.
How to Share the Live Location?
- Open a chat with the person or group you want to share the location with
- Tap on ‘attach’ button at the bottom and select ‘Location’
- Under the ‘Location’, select ‘Share Live Location’
- Choose for how long you want to share the location and select ‘Send’
The best part is, each person in the chat will be able to see your real-time location on the map. if more than one person shares their Live Location in the group, all locations will be visible on the single map.
