OPPO today announced that its flagship Reno 8 5G earned the DXOMARK 2022 Gold Battery. According to the DXOMARK lab tests, the Reno 8 5G achieved a total score of 141 to place it on the podium of the global ranking. According to DXOMARK, Reno 8 5G’s 4,500mAh battery gets fully charged in 33 minutes only, resulting in its score of 155 in the charging performance category. Reno 8 5G is one of the 10 best devices in the entire battery protocol database regarding charging time.
Apart from the charging performance, DXOMARK also indicates that the Reno 8 5G’s battery optimizations result in an efficient charging experience. The phone, on average, gains 7 hours 43 min of autonomy after a five-minute quick charge, making it one of the best in the charging efficiency category.
Besides that, Reno 8 5G has passed TÜV Rheinland’s test in recognition of its charging performance, indicating a 5-minute charge is enough for 2 hours of mobile gaming. With the OPPO Reno 8 5G, users can expect a longer battery life. DXOMARK’s test shows that the battery loses only 0.67% power on average per night during typical usage scenarios.
The Reno 8 5G is powered by OPPO’s exclusive Battery Health Engine that intelligently controls the charging current and voltage through real-time monitoring. This technology extends the battery life to as many as 1600 charges and discharge cycles, or roughly four years of average use, making it the smartphone with the longest battery lifespan on the market.
“The OPPO Reno 8 5G earned an excellent global score thanks to its very well-balanced performances. Autonomy, charging, and efficiency scores are above-average compared with devices from the same price range.”, said DXOMARK in its review.
