OPPO expands its affordable A-series lineup with the launch of OPPO A55 in India. It’s an entry-level 4G smartphone that comes with a 6.51-inch HD+ 60Hz display and is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. According to OPPO, the device goes from 0 to 50% in about 30 minutes. The device also carries an IPX4 rating for splash resistance and sports a battery cover that has a faux metal texture.
In the camera section, the OPPO A55 comes with a triple camera setup on the rear that includes a 50MP main camera, 2MP bokeh, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, the device gets a high-resolution 16MP selfie camera that supports AI beautification and also Dazzle Color, Photo Filters, and Pano modes. It also supports the 360° fill light feature lets you capture clear selfies even in dim environments by illuminating the display and using it as a light source.
The smartphone runs OPPO Color OS 11.1, which has performance-boosting features such as System Booster, Idle Time Optimizer, Storage Optimizer, and gaming-centric features such as Game Focus Mode and Bullet Screen, etc. Other key features are a side-mounted fingerprint reader, Super Power-Saving Mode, Optimized Night Charging, Short Circuit Protection, Smart Temperature Control, and Optimal Heat Dissipation.
OPPO A55 comes in two colors – Rainbow Blue & Starry Black and will go on sale in India through Amazon.in and also through offline retail stores. The 4/64GB variant will be available from 3rd October for ₹15,490, while the 6/128 variant will be available from 11th October onwards for ₹17,490.
