After introducing Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, the company has launched its much-anticipated flagship dual camera smartphone Nokia 8 at an event held in London. This is also the first smartphone to feature Nokia OZO spatial 360° audio technology that has been used by Hollywood filmmakers and music producers. It has a metal unibody design made up of a single block of 6000 series aluminum through the 40-stage process of machining, anodizing and polishing. Another feature that stands out is the Dual-Sight mode lets you use both front and rear camera in the split screen mode and can also be live streamed to social feeds such as Facebook and YouTube. The fingerprint scanner is embedded into the menu button.
Nokia 8 sports a 5.3″ QHD polarized display with a resolution of 25660 x 1440 pixels and protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s high-performance Snapdragon 835 mated with 4GB RAM and 3090mAh battery. This smartphone is equipped with a 13 MP dual image-fusion rear camera with one color and another monochrome sensor. At the front, a 13 MP phase detection autofocus camera for selfies and video calls. Both front and rear cameras are equipped with ZEISS optics. The rear camera is coupled with a Dual-tone LED flash and can also shoot 4K videos. This device offers an internal storage of 64GB with microSD support up to 256GB and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Key connectivity features included are USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi AC, GPS and 3.5mm audio port.
Nokia 8 will be offered in Polished Blue, Polished Copper, Tempered Blue, & Steel color options and will be available at an average retail price of €599 (Approx. ₹ 45,400). Global roll out begins September 2017.
