Three years ago, Netflix had introduced the Smart Downloads feature to improve downloading & watching Netflix on the go. Smart Downloads will delete an episode when you finish watching it and then, automatically download the next episode. Now to further improve the user experience Netflix announces a new feature called Downloads For You.
Newly introduced Downloads For You feature automatically downloads recommended shows or movies to your mobile device based on your tastes. The feature is already started rolling out on Android devices globally and expected to be available on iOS in the coming days (testing will commence soon). You can easily control how much data is downloaded to your device and also restrict the downloads only when connected to WiFi.
How to Turn on Netflix Downloads For You
- Go to the Downloads tab on your mobile device and toggle on Downloads For You.
- Choose the amount of content you want to be downloaded to your device (1GB, 3GB, or 5GB) and click Turn On. The more space you allow, the more recommendations Netflix will download for you.
