Update: 16th March – Motorola razr was first introduced in November 2019 and now, almost 4-months after the Global debut, Motorola brings its first foldable smartphone to India. It is offered only in Noir Black and priced at ₹1,24,999. Pre-orders on Flipkart has already begun and shipping begins from 2nd April 2020.
Earlier: 16th November 2019 – Motorola finally launches its much-anticipated Motorola Razr foldable smartphone at an event in California, USA. It has two displays – a 6.2-inch pOLED internal foldable display and a 2.7-inch gOLED external display. The device features a zero-gap hinge that folds the screen perfectly in half and allows razr to close with both sides perfectly flush.
The external 2.7-inch OLED Quick View display is also touched enabled and lets you easily see notifications, authorize payments, control media playback, use Google Assistant, and respond to texts, emails and calls without opening the device. When razr is closed, you can use the phone’s main camera with the Quick View display to capture selfies and make video calls.
The Motorola razer is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor with a non-removable 2,510mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging. For security, you’ll get a fingerprint reader which is mounted on the front side of the device and can also be accessed even when the phone is folded. It runs on Android 9 Pie with a few Motorola customizations such as Moto Display, Moto Actions, etc.
In the camera department, the Motorola razr comes with a 16MP f/1.7 rear camera and supports EIS, Dual Pixel AF, Laser AF and also supported by a dual-LED flash for better low-light photos. On the front, the razr gets a 5MP front camera that supports screen flash. The camera also supports various camera features such as Smile capture, Night vision,\ Smart composition, AI Shot Optimization, Portrait mode, etc.
The Motorola razr is offered only in Noir Black color and will be available to pre-order in the U.S exclusively via Verizon starting 26th December 2019 at $1,499.99 (Approx. ₹1,06,200). Motorola has already confirmed that it will launch the razr in India in the coming days.
