Xiaomi India today announced the launch of the much-awaited MIUI 13 update for Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones in India. According to Xiaomi, MIUI 13 aims to enhance the core experience of Xiaomi & Redmi phones by providing improved performance, refined design, and multitasking features.
The latest update includes various enhancements such as faster storage, improved background process efficiency, Optimized File Storage System, RAM Optimization Engine, Processor Priority Optimization, and longer battery life. The update also comes with many other useful features such as Super Wallpapers, Mind Maps in Notes, enhanced Control Centre, Game Turbo to name a few.
Optimized File Storage System: It is a new system-level method of managing the way files are stored on devices. According to Xiaomi, the new Optimized File Storage System on MIUI 13 reduces fragmentation and actively manages stored data, improving defragmentation efficiency by up to 60%. Xiaomi also claims that, in roughly about 36 months, some other Android OS read and write speeds drop by as much as 50% while the MIUI 13 retains up to 95%.
RAM Optimization: The RAM Optimization analyzes how apps use memory and divide a single app’s RAM usage processes into important and unimportant tasks. Then it closes all unimportant tasks, allowing apps to use memory only for what’s important for users right now for an improved and fluid multitasking experience.
Processor Priority Optimization(PPO) – It dynamically allocates system resources based on usage scenarios for an improved user experience. PPO prioritizes the active app above all others, allowing the CPU to focus on important tasks to provide faster speeds and higher performance whenever needed.
Smart Balance – This feature automatically finds the balance between performance and power consumption, According to Xiaomi, Smart Balance helps the user to extend the battery life by up to 10%.
Sidebar – It allows you to access all your favorite apps in floating windows with just a swipe without leaving the current app. It allows you to pull up multiple apps at once, or quickly swap between them. You can even customize the feature with up to 10 apps in the sidebar.
Super Wallpapers – This feature has been developed in partnership with Beauty of Science and you can download a bunch of Live Wallpapers right from the theme store. These wallpapers are created using a polarized light microscope to capture the crystallization process of different substances like Vitamin C, citric acid, salicylic acid, and more. MIUI 13 also comes with a host of new static wallpapers.
