LG V30 was first introduced at IFA 2017, and today at MWC 2018, LG has announced a new variant LG V30S ThinQ with AI Camera features. There are no changes in the hardware specifications expect the RAM and Storage. Even the dimensions remain same as the LG V30. The V30S ThinQ comes preloaded with various intelligent camera features such as AI CAM, QLens, and Bright Mode that automatically enhance the image capturing the experience. The AI CAM analyzes subjects and recommends you the best shooting mode and also enhances the characteristics of the subject on the basis of viewing angle, color, lighting etc. QLens feature lets you capture an item with QLens to get information on where to buy the product online and the Bright mode will help you to take noise free photos using the AI features. Another new addition is the Voice AI that allows you to run apps and change the system settings through voice commands.
To Recall, the LG V30S ThinQ boasts a 6-inch Quad HD+ OLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and powered by the Octa-core Snapdragon 835 CPU mated with 6GB of RAM. The non-removable 3000mAh battery supports Quick Charge 3.0 that charges from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes and also offers wireless charging. It has a Dual camera setup on the rear side that includes a primary 16MP standard and a secondary 13MP wide angle sensor with EIS, OIS & Hybrid Autofocus. At the front, you will get a 5MP snapper with 90° wide-angle lens for panoramic selfies. Other key specifications are Hi-Fi Quad DAC, 5GHz WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. This smartphone runs on Android Oreo out of the box.
The LG V30S ThinQ comes in two variants – 6GB RAM / 128GB Storage (V30S) and 6GB RAM / 256GB Storage (V30S+) with two colors to choose from – Moroccan Blue & Platinum Gray. Also, the company has promised that certain LG smartphones such as V30 and others will receive key AI features in future via an over-the-air (OTA) update depending on hardware and other factors for the best user experience. Attendees of MWC 2018 can visit LG’s booth in Hall 3 of Fira Gran Via from 26th February until 1st March 2018 to know more about the LG V30S ThinQ. It will be available to buy in Korea in March 2018 followed by the U.S. and Europe. LG has yet to announce the pricing.
