Jio has finally released the JioMotive, an On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) tool for cars in India. They introduced it a few months ago, but it was under closed Beta testing. Now, Jio has made it available to the public with some improved features. JioMotive is a special device you plug into your car’s OBD-II port, usually found under the dashboard near the steering wheel.
It gives you important information about your car’s health, where it is right now, and how well it’s running. It also provides fast Wi-Fi, helping you and your family stay safe and connected all the time. Check out all key features of JioMotive below.
Jio Motive Features
- Realtime Vehicle Tracking – Track your vehicle in real-time, check the vehicle’s real-time speed, check the vehicle’s route, and more
- Geo-Fencing: Create boundaries, or virtual fences, around places like your home, work, or your children’s school. When your car goes in or out of these set areas, you’ll get immediate alerts, so you’ll always know where your vehicle is going.
- Time Fencing: Use the JioThings app to create time-based boundaries. If your car starts or moves during that time, you’ll get instant alerts.
- Works with Jio SIM-Only – You don’t have to get an extra SIM card because your main Jio Smartphone plan will also cover your JioMotive.
- Vehicle Health – Monitor your car’s battery voltage, air intake temperature, engine load, and coolant temperature. You can also receive notifications about various diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), which help you take better care of your car.
- Driving Behaviour Analysis: JioMotive will warn you about speeding, hard braking, quick acceleration, and sudden turns to encourage safer driving. Additionally, you can look back at your previous trip history to learn about your driving habits.
- Anti-Theft/ Anti Tow/ Accident Alerts – These features rely on the built-in 3D gyroscope and accelerometer of JioMotive. If any unexpected events occur, you’ll receive immediate alerts on your phone to respond. Even if the device is taken out or tampered with from the OBD port, you’ll still be notified to take prompt action.
- In-Car Wi-Fi Hotspot: With JioMotive’s In-Car Wi-Fi, everyone in the car can stay connected during the journey. You can connect up to 8 devices simultaneously.
- DIY: Completely DIY Installation and Setup Process. No visit to the workshop is needed.
JioMotive costs ₹4,999, and you can purchase it from Amazon India, Jio.com, Reliance Digital, and other outlets beginning November 3rd, 2023. When you buy the device, you’ll get a one-year free JioMotive subscription. After the first year, you’ll need to pay ₹599 per year to continue using it.
