Jio today announces Jio Bharat, the cheapest 4G Phone in India. According to Jio, the major aim of the Jio Bharat phone is to empower every Indian with the power of digital services, especially those who cannot afford a smartphone. The Jio Bharat phone is priced at ₹999 with a monthly plan of ₹123 that offers unlimited voice calls and 0.5GB/day 4G data per day for 28 days.
The Jio Bharat comes with an Alphanumeric keypad, VGA camera, Built-in torch, 3.5mm audio jack, and also FM Radio. The device also comes preloaded with JioSaavn and JioCinema apps for an enhanced multimedia experience. The device also allows you to make and receive UPI payments using the JioPay app.
As of now, Jio Bharat is offered by Reliance Retail (Jio Bharat V2) and Karbonn. Jio has also confirmed that more phone brands will adopt the Jio Bharat platform to build Jio Bharat phones in the coming months. Beta trial for first 1 million Jio Bharat phones begins from 7th July 2023 across 6,500 tehsils.
