Update: 25th Feb 2020 – Global Launch: Honor launches Honor 9X Pro, brand’s first HMS-based smartphone at the global launch event held in Barcelona, Spain. It’s an upgraded version Honor 9X which was introduced in India in January 2020. When compared with Honor 9X, the 9X Pro comes with an all-new processor and side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Additionally, the 9X Pro also comes preloaded with Huawei Assistant and Huawei App Gallery, Huawei’s official App Store just like Google Play Store.
It sports a 6.59-inch FullHD+ display with no-notch design and powered by the brand’s In-house Kirin 810 octa-core chipset with a 4,000mAh battery. One of the key changes in the design part is the placement of the fingerprint reader. The 9X Pro includes a side-mounted fingerprint reader instead of a rear-mounted scanner on the 9X. Additionally, 9X Pro also supports the Liquid Cooling system to quickly spread heat throughout the phone to provide optimal performance.
In terms of photography, both 9X and 9X Pro share the same set of camera specifications. On the front, the Honor 9X Pro has a 16MP pop-up camera that pops out automatically whenever you open the camera application. The rear camera has a triple camera setup that includes a vertically-stacked 16MP primary camera, an 8MP 120˚ ultra-wide camera and a dedicated 2MP depth camera.
