Direct Carrier Billing for Play Store Now Available in India

What is Direct Carrier Billing?

Direct Carrier billing is the type of payment method where you can buy Apps and Digital Contents on Google Play using your Prepaid / Postpaid balance. So now you don’t need Credit/Debit Cards for purchases. Apps and Contents bought are deducted from the prepaid balance or charged to the monthly mobile phone bill.

Note: In India Direct Carrier Billing is available only for Idea Cellular subscribers.

Setting up Direct Carrier Billing

  1. Open Google Play.

2. Go to account settings.

Go to Accounts

3. Select “Payment Methods”.

4. Select “Use Idea Billing”.

5. Once you select Idea Billing, One SMS will be automatically sent for account verification. After the account verification, add the billing address to complete the process. If your account is successfully verified then new payment method “Use Idea Billing” will be added to payment methods.

6. Buy Apps & Contents from Google Play

The above tutorial is not only limited to Idea Cellular. Once your respective carrier supports Direct Carrier Billing you can follow the same method to set up it.
