Vodafone Idea and NASSCOM Foundation Join Hands to Launch MyAmbar App for Women Safety

Vodafone Idea Foundation, the CSR arm of Vodafone Idea Limited, in partnership with NASSCOM Foundation, Sayfty Trust, and UN Women today announced the launch of MyAmbar, an app-based solution specially developed for safety and empowerment of women in India. The app is available in English & Hindi and provides women with easy access to important helpline numbers and service providers across the country.

The app includes a risk assessment tool to understand physical and emotional state along with recommendations for further course of action. The app also comes with SOS helpline button, an extensive service directory to reach out to legal & counselling services and also a Masking feature wherein the app can be converted into a weather app so that the victim can use the app without any fear.

Furthermore, MyAmbar App helps and educates on gender-based violence to understand the issue and avail support services. It even helps survivors & high-risk victims to log in their complaints & seek help without bias or judgment. As of now, the App is only available for Android users and the iOS version alongside support for more languages will be released in the coming days.
