Xiaomi announces Redmi 6, the successor of last years Redmi 5 with an upgraded camera and AI capabilities. Its a budget dual-camera smartphone comes with a smaller 5.45-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor with a downgraded 3,000mAh battery. The Xiaomi Redmi 6 available in two variants – 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. It’s a Dual SIM 4G device equipped with a hybrid SIM tray and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.
The major change in the Redmi 6 compared to the predecessor is the Dual camera module on the rear side. The setup includes a primary 12MP and a secondary 5MP sensor with LED flash. For selfies and video calls, it has a 5MP sensor at the front that supports AI portraits. In Terms of design, the Redmi 6 has a polycarbonate back and comes with the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Redmi 6 is offered in four colors – Black, Gold, Blue & Rose Gold and priced at 799 yuan (Approx. ₹8,400) for 3GB/32GB and 999 yuan (Approx. ₹10,500) for 4GB/64GB. As of now, it is only available in China and expected to launch in India sometime around September 2018.
