Samsung Galaxy Fold was first introduced in February 2019 and was supposed to go on sale in April 2019. But, after the displays on some of the review units broke Samsung decided to delay the release and introduced an updated Galaxy Fold in July 2019 with improved design. Now, the brand has officially announced the sale of Galaxy Fold in Korea. The updated Galaxy Fold will be available in Korea starting 6th September 2019 in two colors – Cosmos Black and Space Silver.
It will also be made available in select countries including France, Germany, Singapore, U.K., and the U.S. in the coming days. Additionally, the Galaxy Fold comes with exclusive access to specialized customer care services including One-on-one access to Samsung experts, and a 24/7 support hub online or over the phone. Galaxy Fold will also be available in 5G variant in select countries. There are no changes in the Pricing as well as technical specifications.
What’s new in the updated Galaxy Fold?
- Top protective layer of the Flex Display has been extended beyond the bezel making it an integral part of the display structure.
- Additional reinforcements to protect the device from external particles.
- Top and bottom of the hinge area have been strengthened with protection caps
- Additional metal layers underneath the Infinity Flex Display have been included to reinforce the protection of the display.
- Space between the hinge and body of Galaxy Fold has been reduced.
