OnePlus today displayed its first 5G prototype smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform at Mobile World Congress Barcelona. The prototypes displayed at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s 5G demo station sealed within a protective case for confidentiality since they haven’t officially made their debut yet. Visitors at MWC19 can get a sneak peek at OnePlus’ 5G prototype devices displayed at Qualcomm Technologies’ booth along with the experience of 5G cloud gaming.
There were two devices. On one device OnePlus simulated a futuristic setting of 5G cloud gaming where players would only need a smartphone and a gamepad. According to OnePlus, through the powerful capabilities of cloud processing as well as the throughput and responsiveness of 5G, players can play large sized games online that are generally only playable after downloading onto the PC first. Also, the players were able to experience high definition and low latency cloud gaming by utilising Snapdragon elite gaming features & optimisations.
Another device is used as a live feed to display messages left by OnePlus community members on the OnePlus “Say Hello to 5G” community page. OnePlus has already confirmed that it is partnering up EE to be among the first to release thr 5G commercial smartphone in the UK. Check out all MWC announcements here.
