Android 9.0 Pie Update Now Available for Nokia 5

Just a day after announcing the Android Pie update schedule for its range of smartphones, Nokia has started rolling out Android 9.0 Pie update for its almost 2-year old Nokia 5. Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global has confirmed the news on Twitter. Apart from the standard Android Pie features, it also includes January 2019 Google Security patches.

As its a staged rollout, a few randomly selected users will receive the update first and will expand to other users gradually over a few days. You will receive the update notification once the update hits your device. You can also check for the update manually by going to Settings -> About -> System Updates -> Check for update. Before initiating the update make sure the battery is 50% or above. For better results download this update via a WiFi connection.
