Just a day after announcing the Android Pie update schedule for its range of smartphones, Nokia has started rolling out Android 9.0 Pie update for its almost 2-year old Nokia 5. Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global has confirmed the news on Twitter. Apart from the standard Android Pie features, it also includes January 2019 Google Security patches.
The Nokia 5 has a 5.2-inch 16:9 display and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Mobile Platform with 2GB or 3GB of RAM. It has a 13MP rear camera with PDAF support and 8MP front camera with 84° Wide-angle Lens. The key specifications of Nokia 5 are a 3,000mAh battery, Fingerprint scanner, Dual SIM, VoLTE support and a Micro USB port. Out of the box, it came with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and received the Android Oreo update in January 2018.
