Nokia 2 Gets Android 8.1 Oreo Update Through Beta Program

Nokia 2 was first introduced in October 2017 Globally and later launched in India in November with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. During the launch, the company has also promised Android Oreo update for this entry-level smartphone. Now, Nokia has skipped the Android 8.0 Oreo and started rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo Beta update through the Nokia Phones Beta Labs program. This update also includes many of the Android Go Editon memory management improvements. Even though you’ll receive the stable update within a month or two, you can still try the 8.1 Oreo Beta using the Beta program.

To get the Android 8.1 Oreo Beta on your Nokia 2 smartphone, Go to this link and sign up for the Beta program. If you have already signed up, Sign into the Nokia account and enroll your device to receive the Beta updates. Once you enroll your device, you’ll receive the OTA (Over-the-air) updates. Please make a note that, Beta builds are not as stable as the official builds. There is always a potential risk of data loss and also contain several bugs and performance issues. To be on a safer side, Backup all your important Data before updating to the Beta version.
