HMD Global has today launched its first Android Go Edition smartphone dubbed as Nokia 1 at an event held in MWC 2018. Android Oreo Go Edition was introduced at Google Made For India event held in December 2017 with an aim to provide high-quality experience with lowest possible cost. It comes preloaded with specially optimized apps such as Google Go, Google Assistant Go, YouTube Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go, Gboard, Google Play, Chrome, and Files Go app etc. Check out this post for more details on Android Go Edition. Its a Dual SIM 4G device offers an internal storage of 8GB and also supports microSD up to 128GB.
Nokia 1 has a 4.5-inch FWVGA display and fuelled by the Quad-core MediaTek processor with 1GB of RAM. For photography, it has a 5MP rear camera accompanied by a LED flash and a 2MP front camera. It equipped with a removable 2150mAh battery that can provide standby time up to 15 days. Another highlight of this smartphone is the Xpress-on covers where you can easily swap out the back cover. Other key specifications are WiFi n, GPS, Bluetooth, VoLTE, and FM Radio. It is also certified by IP52 and protects the device from water spray less than 15 degrees from vertical.
Nokia 1 is offered in two colors – Warm Red, & Dark Blue and shipping begins April 2018 at an average retail price of $85 (Approx. ₹5,500). Nokia Xpress-on covers are available from $7.99 (Approx. ₹520) in Azure, Grey, Yellow, and Pink.
