Back in December 2017, at #MadeForIndia event Google had introduced a new Android version called Android Oreo Go Edition. Today, Micromax has launched its first Android Go Edition smartphone named as Micromax Bharat Go in partnership with Airtel. It comes with 4.5-inch display and powered by the MediaTek quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. Both front and the rear cameras include a 5MP sensor with LED flash on both. Micromax has also added a smart key that will enable the users to take Screenshots, Click pictures and switch the phone to silent mode. It is equipped with 2,000mAh battery and also supports USB OTG.
All the devices with Android Oreo Go Edition come preloaded with specially optimized apps such as Google Go, Google Assistant Go, YouTube Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go, Gboard, Google Play, Chrome, and Files Go app. The special a version of the Google Play Store will allow you to download any apps and also highlights the apps which are specially designed to work best on Go edition devices. Furthermore, this new edition also comes with Google’s data saver features turned on by default and you can also manage which apps can use background data. As per Google, preinstalled Google apps on Android Oreo Go Edition take up 50 percent less space which doubles the amount of available storage on the device.
The Micromax Bharat Go is offered in two colors – Black & Gold and available to buy through offline retail stores across India at ₹4,399 (MOP). It will be sold under Airtel’s ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ initiative and you’ll get a cashback of ₹2,000 which will bring down the price to ₹2,399.
