Lenovo has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for K6 Power and K6 Note smartphones in India. Since the update is rolling out in phases, it might take some time to reach your phone. You will receive the push notification once the update is available. You can also check for the update manually by going to Settings -> About -> System Updates -> Check for update.
Update Highlights
- Enhanced Multitasking with Multi-window Support – Run two apps simultaneously on the screen. Just tap on the recent apps button and drag the apps to the top of the screen.
- Data Saver – To limit background data usage when you are not on a Wi-Fi network. You can also restrict data usage on individual apps.
- Smarter & Bundled Notifications – Ability to reply from the notification bar itself without opening any app.
- Quick App Switching – Double tap the recent apps button on the K6 Power and K6 Note and it automatically switches to the last app you were using. No more manually selecting from a list of running apps.
- Doze Mode – for better battery life, Also reduces data sync and periodically run tasks.
- Display Size – Change the size of the font or display.
Things to Remember
- Take the complete backup of your smartphone before initiating the update
- Ensure the phone has sufficient battery (At least 50% or above)
- Lenovo recommends installing the update over Wi-Fi network
- In case of stability issues, perform the factory reset to get optimal device performance
