Google Launches Video Calling App Duo for Android & iOS

Google has announced the video calling app Duo and the messaging app Allo in the Google I/O 2016. Finally, Google Duo now is started rolling out to both Android and iOS users. It might take few days to go live worldwide as Google rolls out apps and app updates in phases. The Google duo is a simple one to one video calling app linked to your phone number just like WhatsApp.

You can do a video call to anyone in your contact list who has Duo. Duo has a unique feature called Knock Knock lets you preview incoming video calls from everyone before answering the call. Android users can see Knock Knock previews even if the Duo App is closed but the App should be open on iOS device to see previews.

  • You can limit the mobile data usage. Enable/Disable it from Duo settings
  • All calls in Duo are end-to-end encrypted
  • You can block any caller from the Duo settings
