Essential Phone with 5.71″ Edge-to-Edge Display, 4GB RAM, Dual Rear Cameras Launched

The much awaited Essential Phone is now official. Android founder Andy Rubin is the man behind this powerful smartphone. It features a 5.71″ edge-to-edge display and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM. In terms of design, it has a strong titanium frame with ceramic at the back. As per the company, this phone has undergone a corner drop test on solid concrete and survived the fall without blemish, unlike the aluminum competitor devices. It comes with an internal storage of 128GB and boots on Android OS. The fingerprint scanner is placed at the rear side and surprisingly, there is not even a single logo on the smartphone.

The camera department has Dual 12MP cameras at the rear powered by the PDAF and IR Laser Assist Focus for faster focusing. At the front, it has an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. Both front and rear cameras are capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps. The major feature of this smartphone which stands out is the modularity. It comes with two tiny magnetic connectors at the rear side lets you connect accessories like 360° cameras, Charging dock etc. This device lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack but ships with a USB Type-C to 3.5mm connector. So you can connect your existing headphones with the help of supplied adapter. Also, there is no microSD card slot.

The Essential Phone is offered in four color options – Black Moon, Stellar Grey, Pure White, and Ocean Depths. It is priced at $ 699 and available for Pre-order in the US. As an introductory offer company is also providing $199 360° camera for just $50 along with the smartphone ($ 749). You can pre-order the device from company’s official website.
