AMX XP 60 USB-C Power Delivery Hybrid Charger Review

When you use many devices on a daily basis such as Laptops, Smartphones, iPads, etc. it will become very hard to manage due to the kind of power adapter these supports. Every device has its own power requirements and comes with its own power adapter. For example, my smartphone and laptop (MacBook Pro) both use USB Type-C for charging but, I cant use the same power adapter to charge both devices. Even it’s very hard to find an affordable charger that fulfills all your charging needs.

Recently, I came across a Dehli-based consumer electronics company called AMX that offers a variety of chargers at amazingly low prices. One of the useful products from their portfolio is AMX XP 60 USB-C Power Delivery Hybrid Charger. I have been using this charger every day from the past few days for charging my Smartphones, Laptops and Bluetooth Earphones. Trust me, you get more than what you pay for. Check out my full review below.

    AMX XP 60 Quick Specs
    ✓ BIS Certified
    ✓ 4- Port power adapter
✓ 45W USB Power Delivery Port
    ✓ 3 x 17W Flash Charging Ports

The AMX XP 60 has a minimalist design, somewhat looks like a MacBook Pro Power Adapter but with a matte-like finish. On the front side, it has One 45W Power Delivery (PD) port and three flash-charge supported 17W USB-A ports placed in a row along with a LED status indicator. USB PD is a standard fast-charge protocol that only provides the power the device needs. So, you don’t need any special cables or special adapters to charge your device. Plug the Smartphone, Laptop or Power bank to the Power Delivery port using the Type-C cable and your device charges at its top speed.

AMX XP 60 USB Input and Output Voltage

The USB Power Delivery port supports five power outputs – 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/2.25A, and the USB-A ports support up to 5V/3A. This adapter doesn’t support Qualcomm’s popular Quick Charge technology but, it has its own fast charging technology called Signature Flash Charging. I was able to charge my MacBook Pro 2018, Mi A2, OnePlus 7T and Realme Powerbank at the same time without any issues.

AMX XP 60 USB PD Port

AMX XP 60 Charger is also certified by Bureau Of Indian Standards (BIS) to make sure the product is safe to use.

This power brick comes bundled with a premium AMX Infinity X USB Type-C Cable that supports upto 10 GBPS data transfer and up to 100 watts of Power supply. It is made up of 22 AWG High Gauge Tinned Copper Wire to support high power requirements and also enclosed in Copper Foil with multiple protective casing.

AMX Infinity X USB Type-C Cable

This USB-IF certified Type-C cable is about 2-meters long and also supports 4K streaming on compatible devices. Additionally, it is equipped with E-marker Chip to safeguard the connected devices and also supports Quick Charge 3.0. The Type-C cable is well built and can be used for charging as well as transferring data between two devices.

    USB Type-C to Type-C Cable

Good Alternative to MacBook Pro Original Charger

The Original Apple 61W Adapter costs you around ₹5,000 and that too without a USB Type-C cable. So, If you are looking for a budget fast charger for your MacBook Pro, AMX XP 60 is one of the best chargers available in India right now. Even though it doesn’t support 61W, it does its job very well, as good as the original Apple charger. It not only supports MacBook Pro but, supports all latest MacBooks (2018 or later) including the latest MacBook Air with Type-C port.

AMX XP 60 vs Apple Charger
    Left:AMX XP 60 Charger : Right:Apple Original 61W Charger

I have used this charger with my MacBook Pro 2018 with Touch Bar on a daily basis and it has been working flawlessly. During my testing, the AMX XP 60 (45W) took about 3 hours 16 minutes to go from 3% to 100% and the and the Bundled Apple 61W Adapter took around 2 hours 47 minutes to go from 4% to 100%.

    What I Like

    • Low-cost
    • USB PD Port
    • Multiple Fast Charge Ports
    • Light-weight
    • Premium Type-C Cable

    What I Don’t Like

    • Prone to scratches
AMX XP 60 Power Adapter with Fast Charging Support

VerdictAMX XP 60 is an affordable power brick that helps you charge almost all your devices using a single power adapter. It also eliminates the need of carrying multiple power adapters especially when you are traveling. The performance is excellent and works fine with almost all USB-supported devices including Laptops, Smartphones, Bluetooth earphones, and also Powerbanks. If you are looking for an affordable multi-purpose USB PD charger, I don’t think you’ll find a better option than AMX XP 60.

    AMP XP 60 Travel Adapter

The AMX XP 60 Charger is available in two variants – Charger Only priced at ₹1,199 and Charger with 100W USB Type-C Cable at ₹1,999. You can buy this Power brick from Amazon.in, Flipkart and also through the brands’ official website. It is compatible with most of the popular devices such as Google Pixel series, Samsung Galaxy & Note series, Apple iPhones & iPads, Apple MacBooks (2018 or Later), etc.
